NourishRX, is a growing, outpatient, eating disorder practice, positioned to be a leader in the outpatient, virtual, nutritional treatment of eating disorders across the nation. We have been delivering high quality nutrition care in the treatment of eating disorders for over a decade. Our work is grounded in evidence-based interventions and care with a personalized approach for adolescents, adults and their families struggling with eating disorders. 



NourishRX is looking for a highly organized Administrative Assistant and Medical Biller to support our clients and families from the initial point of outreach through insurance billing and reimbursement. Candidates for this position are extremely reliable, have a warm and welcoming personality, are self-motivated, and extremely detail-oriented, with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. This person must be a quick-study on a new software, be understanding and compassionate of our clients needs, and shares our belief that our clients come first.



The administrative assistant/medical biller will handle all initial phone calls and emails to the practice and schedule new client leads appropriately with our Client Care Coordinator. They will ensure all relevant paperwork and insurance information is collected and may need to support clients in calling their health insurance company to determine benefits. This person will also be in charge of submitting all insurance claims for reimbursement, following up on outstanding claims, appealing denied claims, billing clients for fees due and clearly communicating any billing issues with clients in a timely manner. Additionally, this individual will serve as the liaison in reporting any patient concerns to management / appropriate team members.

Someone with a strong customer service background, medical billing and experience working with insurance companies is required.

Job Details & Responsibilities Include:


  • Ability to work a minimum of 30 hours/week, between the hours of 9am - 5pm EST, Monday-Friday
  • This is a mostly remote position, however, the candidate would be expected to work from our office in Manchester, MA a few hours/week
  • MUST have a quiet, private space to work in from home in an effort to protect our clients private health information
  • Candidates will be responsible for their own high-speed internet connection, computer and phone for remote employment
  • Maintain excellent client relations
  • Answer phone calls. Monitor practice voicemail and email; return all messages in a timely manner
  • Send and organize faxes within our Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Answer phones and respond to client questions appropriately and respectfully
  • Communicate and coordinate with the nutrition team and Client Care Coordinator regarding new & existing clients
  • Support new clients in completing all required paperwork
  • Obtain support documents from client's outside providers, such as medical records, growth charts, etc
  • Ensure insurance information is complete, that referrals and prior authorizations have been received. Clearly communicating this to clients as necessary 
  • Scrub all claims for accuracy and submit insurance claims for reimbursement on a daily basis
  • Monitor all claims from submission through payment, including, incorrect payments, denials, counter-billing clients for fees due, and following up on outstanding invoices. Edit and resubmit claims in a timely manner.
  • Stay up to date with insurance rules/regulations and communicate and implement these updates with the team
  • Active participation in team meetings collaboration with our registered dietitians and client care coordinator via zoom

  • Medical Billing And Coding: 1 year, minimum (Required) - Nutrition specific medical billing a plus
  • Proven experience as an healthcare administrator or receptionist
  • Experience in customer service 
  • Knowledge of basic bookkeeping principles and office management systems and procedures
  • Skilled with learning new technology - scheduling and billing is performed through our EMR
  • Flexible and reliable
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Impeccable attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work remotely and independently
